  1. kn33 says:

Now, I'm a dude, so obviously my input comes from a certain perspective. It almost seems worse when it's from another woman, though, don't you think? Like, do you have so little confidence in yourself that you couldn't ever see yourself being a butcher? And if not, why do you think you could but this other woman couldn't just for being a woman? Like, kinda shitty.

  2. It's internalized misogyny. They believe the crap they've been fed.

  3. As someone in this age category who does vote, I understand this belief though. I held it myself for a LONG time.

  4. I'm Gen X. We felt the same way (and kinda do still). But it's not going to get better by giving up. They're not going to stop being abusive to the world if you stop pushing back. It's a guaranteed way of things getting worse. If you vote and participate, there's at least a non-zero chance that some things can be put to right.

  5. Fleeing bad neighborhoods is not the same as fleeing from an armed invasion into a sovereign nation.

  6. You mean the side of the wall the US fucked up on purpose?

  7. The mom of one of my friends had an abortion and now is politically active and absolutely against it.

  8. You're clearly out of touch. This is common knowledge for anyone that has watched Joe Biden speak.

  9. I watch him speak several times a week in various settings. If he's in a presser, he answers questions. If it's a speech, he often doesn't, but I have seen him answer questions shouted by reporters as he's leaving. He's even answered Peter Doocey impromptu.

  10. Oh I'm not ignoring it. I'm saying a 13 year old receipt is sus as fuck. Do you have receipts from 13 years ago I know I don't. This chick would have had to keep it safe for 13 YEAS..... we all know thats an unlikely story.

  11. I don't have any old receipts, but I do have receipts from things that I'd like to remember or preserve. Ticket stubs, newspapers, cards, etc. Parking receipt from when my grandma was in the hospital. My mom still has the check she was writing when she went into labor with me.

  12. Basically we’re held to confidence regarding anything our client tells us. They can waive the privilege, we can’t, and I can’t use information gathered from them for another case and say I wasn’t working on it.

  13. I now want to hire you as my tax attorney just so I can say this. Not actually do it, of course. Just say it's true.

  14. Good. I just read about this story the other day and I’m glad that piece of shit resigned. I’m surprised this kind of result is possible in the Carolinas, but I’ll take it!

  15. This is in North Carolina. I cannot speak for South Carolina, but North Carolinians are generally not fans of the term "the Carolinas" unless it involves soda. "The Carolinas" have two different governments. West Virginia and Virginia are not dubbed "the Virginias."

  16. The Carolina Panthers are kinda bridging that linguistic gap. But UNC and USC are doing their best to keep the gap wide.

  17. Carolina : Carolina Panthers :: World : World Series

  18. ATM cards were common, but not debit cards. You couldn't pay for things with an ATM card. You could only get cash. But it was exciting to push the buttons!

  19. This hurricane would have never happened if Trump was still in office. A lot of people tell me that we have the greatest anti-hurricane missiles in the world. We're going to MAKE HURRICANES GREAT AGAIN. MAHA.

  20. "That echo-chamber wasn't good enough, because sometimes people would comment and by the time they got banned for it I'd already seen the post and was forced to consider it...so I've made this extra special echo chamber where we won't even have to see dissenting opinions, regardless of how briefly."

  21. Didn't take long, as I was born with it. 😉

  22. I'm Gen X. We are an urban legend. Please keep ignoring us. We prefer it.

  23. We do not exist, we never have, and we never will

  24. U are comparing an animal to human being. If i wanted a kid i would do a kid. If i wanted a gf i would get a gf. I dont want an animal like a gf. I want an animal.

  25. I live in this town. For anyone not aware, there is an ideological and political battle ongoing in Moscow, ID between a large portion of the population who belongs to a genuine cult that is outwardly misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, and racist… and everybody else.

  26. They did a piece about it on Meet the Press. It was interesting.

  27. I mean, Teflon doesn’t last forever. It eventually scratches away.

  28. What's interesting is that his district is very definitely a poor to middle class one, by and large. And I think he's been very clear that he holds those people in total disdain.

  29. He holds them in disdain also, but they are a good source of income and power. If your name isn't Phil Berger, he will dispense with you anytime it suits him.

  30. In all honesty, the best analysis of Ukraine/Russia on YouTube from a military viewpoint is Perun, he's an Aussie defence economists. Only uploads weekly though.

  31. From a foreign policy view, I'd also like to plug "Pod Save the World." Ben Rhodes is the real deal.

  32. Best thing I ever did was get a bell for my bike. Yes, it's not "cool" but it is infinitely better than hoping someone hears/understands a "rider back" or "passing on your left".

  33. As a walker of trails, I appreciate this. A bell would alert me better because I don't always hear the verbal warning. I want to be courteous and move to the right, so I feel embarrassed when I'm unknowingly holding someone up.

  34. This 100%. Registering Republican will let you vote in the primary. Then you can do your part to get a more moderate candidate.

  35. My SO did this. We're going to vote blue in the general but don't want a reality-denying lunatic as the R candidate. We're in a red area, so it's best to make sure we at least get a semi-sane racist (e.g., Mitt Romney) vs. a QAnon nutjob (e.g., MTG).

  36. We live in a conservative area. My SO voted in the Republican primary so that we might have a chance to not have an absolute loon as a representative/sheriff/city council member. We are both going to vote Dem in the general.

  37. Abbott probably brought Desantis in since they’re already doing the bussing stunt here and a bunch of texans are furious at how much taxpayer money has gone into this BS. It lets them both get brownie points with the Nat-Cs since they’re both up for reelection.

  38. I'd just like to applaud you for "Nat-C." Nationalist conservative or Nationalist Christian? Or is it a sticky orange beverage? You decide.

  39. Don’t google the gender of the police officer that did this 😳

  40. Even if the police officer is a woman, that simply means a woman has a right to become an officer of the law and, apparently, fatally hit another woman in the head. But she doesn't have a right to not wear a head scarf.

  41. These answers you must travel to Mt. Olive, North Carolina and demand satisfaction

  42. On the corner of Cucumber and Vine. 👍

  43. Howdy there, Internet people. It's Beau again. So today, we're goin to talk about...
